Welcome to Labrex. These terms and conditions explain the rules that apply when you use the app. These terms best fit when you’re looking around, creating an account, taking photos of lab reports, reading explanations, comparing old and new results, or paying for a subscription. Upon opening the app, signing up, uploading even one report, or clicking “I Agree” anywhere in the process, you are telling us that you have read these rules, you understand them, and you are happy to follow them.
Please note that this document is a legal agreement between you (the person using the app) and the company that owns and operates under Labrex. If any part of these terms feels uncomfortable or you do not want to follow them, the best thing is to stop using the app right away and delete your account if you already made one. We want everyone to feel safe and respected while using Labrex, so these rules exist to protect you, protect other users, and protect the service itself.
Labrex is a mobile application created to help people interpret laboratory tests with better understanding. We built it because we know how confusing and stressful numbers can feel when you get them back from a medical lab. Our app lets you take a photo or upload a picture of your report, and then it reads the numbers and explains them in plain, simple language that avoids complicated medical jargon. We show you what the values mean in a way that feels more personal and easier to understand.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that we do not examine patients, order tests, interpret results in an official medical capacity, prescribe medicine, recommend treatments, or give any kind of formal diagnosis. Everything you see inside Labrex is educational and informational only. The explanations and summaries are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and smart algorithms, but they are never a substitute for speaking with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your full health history and can physically examine you if needed. We strongly encourage you to treat Labrex as a helpful tool that gives you better questions to ask your doctor rather than a final word on your health.
To create your own Labrex account and use the service independently, you must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of adulthood in the country where you live. If you are younger than that, a parent or legal guardian needs to create the account in their name and manage it for you. They must accept these terms on your behalf and take responsibility for how the account is used. It won’t matter what age you are. Whenever you give us any information that involves your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, or anything else, you promise that everything you tell us is true, accurate, and up to date. If you ever notice that something you entered is wrong or has changed, please update it as soon as possible in your profile settings. We rely on the information being correct so we can provide explanations that are as relevant as possible to you. If we later discover that someone has given false information or is pretending to be someone they are not, we can close the account immediately without warning.
Labrex is designed for your personal, non-commercial use only. What it means is that you can use it to help yourself and the family members you are legally allowed to look after. You are welcome to take clear photos of your lab reports using your phone camera, upload report files that the lab emailed you, create separate profiles for yourself, your spouse, your children, your parents, or other close family, read the plain-language explanations we generate, look at simple summaries that highlight the most important points, compare your latest results with older ones to see whether numbers are moving in a good direction or need attention, keep all your reports safely stored in one place inside the app, and export summaries to your doctor during a visit. Everything you do should be for your own personal understanding and peace of mind. You are not allowed to use Labrex to run a business, offer paid health interpretation services to other people, collect reports from strangers, or do anything that could be considered commercial activity without our written permission.
We do not recommend medicines, supplements, diets, exercises, or any kind of treatment. We do not decide whether a result is dangerous or safe for you specifically. Even when we say a number looks “good” or “concerning,” that is only a general explanation based on patterns and data rather than an official medical opinion. A result that falls inside the normal range can still be important for your personal situation, and a result outside the range can sometimes be harmless or temporary.
A qualified doctor who knows your complete health story, your symptoms, your lifestyle, your family history, and who can talk to you face-to-face or examine you can give you trustworthy answers about what your numbers really mean for your health. If you ever feel unwell, have new symptoms, or are worried about any results you see in Labrex, please contact your doctor as soon as possible. If you are experiencing chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden weakness, heavy bleeding, loss of consciousness, or any other emergency symptoms, call emergency services immediately.
We work hard to make sure Labrex reads reports correctly and gives useful explanations. Even so, no technology is perfect. Problems can happen when photos are blurry, too dark, taken at an angle, or when part of the text is covered by stamps, signatures, folds, or handwriting. Some laboratories use very unusual layouts, very small fonts, non-standard test names, or languages we do not support perfectly yet. Because of these things, it is possible that the app could read a number incorrectly, miss a value completely, misunderstand the units, or give an explanation that is not fully accurate for your exact situation.
The summaries and trend comparisons are helpful guides, but they are not official lab interpretations and should never be treated as such. You agree that you will always double-check important numbers against the original paper report from your laboratory. Labrex results are not medical records, not certified documents, and not admissible as evidence in any legal or insurance matter. We do not guarantee that the service will detect every important change or that it will never make a mistake in reading or explaining values.
When you upload a lab report or add information to a profile, you give us permission to store that document, extract the numbers and test names, analyze the data, create explanations, and keep everything so you can see your history and trends later. You promise that you either own the report or have full legal permission from the person it belongs to before uploading it. You are responsible for making sure no one’s private health information is uploaded without proper consent.
We do not claim ownership of your uploaded reports. They will always belong to you, but we do have the right to use them to provide the service to you and (in a completely anonymized form with all personal identifiers removed) to improve the app, train our systems, and develop new features. You can delete any report or your entire account whenever you want. After you delete something, we remove it from our active systems, although backup copies may remain for a limited time for legal, security or disaster-recovery reasons as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may create profiles for other family members (spouse, children, parents, etc.). After creating or uploading reports to another person’s profile, you represent and promise that: (a) you have that person’s explicit permission to upload and store their health information, (b) you have legal authority to act on their behalf (for example, you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor), or (c) you are otherwise permitted by law to manage their health data in this way.
We rely entirely on your representations and promises regarding your authority and do not independently verify whether you have obtained the required consent or legal permission. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the proper rights and authority before uploading or managing another person’s information. If any dispute, claim, or legal action arises regarding whether you were authorized to upload or manage someone else’s reports or data, you agree to resolve such dispute directly and independently. You further agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to the unauthorized use, upload, or management of another person’s information through Labrex.
We offer a Free plan with limited features and two paid subscription plans (Essential and Pro) with higher upload limits, better explanations, family profiles, trend tracking, export options and longer storage. Current prices and feature differences are displayed on the site. You can subscribe to whichever fits your needs and requirements best.
All paid subscriptions are billed in advance and automatically renew at the end of each applicable billing period unless you cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will prevent future charges but will not result in a refund of any amounts already paid for the current billing period, except where required by law.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices, billing structures, or plan features at any time. If a price change affects your existing subscription, we will provide you with at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice before the new price takes effect. You are responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date payment information and for paying all applicable fees and taxes. Payments are processed through trusted third-party payment processors, and we do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Labrex application, website, user interface, content, explanations, artificial intelligence models, algorithms, software, code, logos, trademarks, graphics, designs, and all other related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use Labrex solely for your personal, non-commercial use and only as expressly permitted by these terms. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from any part of Labrex, except where such restriction is prohibited by law or where you have obtained our prior written consent.
You may close your Labrex account at any time through the settings menu. In addition, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your account, either temporarily or permanently, under the following circumstances:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (and our officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of health opportunities, personal injury, emotional distress, or any damages arising from decisions made based on information received from Labrex.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your violation of these terms, your upload of any report without proper authorization, your use of Labrex in any way that violates any law or third-party rights, or any dispute related to your authority to manage another person’s profile.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to be valid and enforceable. Our failure to enforce any right does not mean we give up that right. These terms (together with our Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Labrex. There will be no change in oral statements or prior promises that will alter these written terms unless a new written agreement is signed.
